The take over of Spare Oom...

So after a little persuasion I now have Spare Oom as my crafting room, hurrah!

Ok so it's already a little untidy, but for a change the lounge doesn't have bits of fabric and pins and glitter all over the floor.

I also picked up my new toy this weekend

A sewing and embroidery machine! It's very posh, with touch screen and everything.
I was supposed to be putting in my old sewing machine as part exchange, but in the end I couldn't quite bring myself to let it go, so that's 6 sewing machines I now own. I should probably try not to collect any more...

Annivesary Cake

It's my Nan and Grandad's golden wedding anniversary on Saturday, and what better to celebrate with - cake!

New things!

One of my Christmas presents from Chelsea this year was an organiser for my craft stuff, I'm not sure what she's trying to tell me, because I'm definitely not an untidy person or anything...
So anyway I spent some much overdue time yesterday sorting and tidying my craft box/drawers, and put lots of the little bits into my lovely new organiser.

I also put down a deposit today on something rather exciting.... Watch this space!

A bit of upcycling...

I've had this old ottoman for a couple of years to keep some of my many crafting bits and bobs in, it came from my Nan and Grandad but I thought it was due for a bit of a re-vamp. Initially I thought it could just do with some different fabric pinned over it, but it quite quickly turned into a full on upcycle job.
So it started off like this:
And ended up like this:

Unfortunately though, for some unknown reason I chose to paint it this horrible copper colour, which looks awful, so I need to get some cream/white paint and paint it back... more pics to follow hopefully.

Shopper bags

I made shopper bags for lots of people this year, although actually I cheated slightly by buying the bags and then decorating them with applique motifs. I forgot to take photos of most of them, but here are a couple.

Santa's Sleigh Cake

Not quite the masterpiece that last years Christmas sponge cake was, but not too bad in the end, everyone ate it anyway!

Applique cushion

Another applique cushion - This time for Chelsea and Bradley.
They went on a hot air balloon ride a few years ago.

You can't really see too well from the photos, but I used shot silk for the background and the balloon, so it's pretty shiny :-)

An 'andsome pasty!

One of Bradey's Christmas presents was a polymer clay pasty keyring! Complete with pasty and a label made using my metal stampers, they worked pretty well in polymer clay.

Rosette Display Board

Dad's Christmas present - a display board for all the rosettes him and Mop have been winning at dog agility competitions - and here is the lovely Mop posing with it.
Made in the same way as the peg boards, with felt applique for the lettering and paw prints.
