Mini wooden storage box

I found this little wooden storage box in the works a couple of weeks back, and thought it would be nice to decorate, after all the fun I had upcycling the spice rack.
Pretty boring... how about a bit of paint?

A bit better... how about some pretty paper?

Lovely. All varnished and ready to go. I haven't got a clue what I'm going to store in it to be honest... but I'm sure I'll find something nice.

Hand Warmer

As it's still so flippin chilly out there I made my Gran a pocket hand warmer for her Birthday a couple of weeks ago.
I made this personalised cover, and inside is a plain cotton bag filled with rice. Pop the rice bag in the microwave for 30 seconds and hey presto, nice and toasty.

Upcycled Spice/Thread Rack

My craft project for this half term holiday has been a bit more upcycling, I'm getting quite into this now!
I found this old spice rack for £1(bargain!) in a charity shop in town...
a few coats of paint, some decorated letters and cotton reels later it looks like this...

And here it is, up on the wall and filled with my threads

The Lord said "Let there be light..."

...And there was novelty lighting, in the form of a chap lamp, and music paper lamps.
It was Jimmy's birthday last week, so I went with the usual theme of things with moustaches and decorated this lamp.
I say ol' chap, that's jolly spiffing, tally ho!

And then these mini lampshades for a string of fairy lights made with plastic cups and old music paper.

Dog Bandana

Well it's only fair that Moppy has something to wear for dog agility training and competitions, after all, the humans get posh t-shirts. So I've made her a personalised doggy bandana!

I'll try and get a picture of her wearing it when it take it over for her.

And here it is, modelled by the lovely Moppy dog .

The take over of Spare Oom...

So after a little persuasion I now have Spare Oom as my crafting room, hurrah!

Ok so it's already a little untidy, but for a change the lounge doesn't have bits of fabric and pins and glitter all over the floor.

I also picked up my new toy this weekend

A sewing and embroidery machine! It's very posh, with touch screen and everything.
I was supposed to be putting in my old sewing machine as part exchange, but in the end I couldn't quite bring myself to let it go, so that's 6 sewing machines I now own. I should probably try not to collect any more...

Annivesary Cake

It's my Nan and Grandad's golden wedding anniversary on Saturday, and what better to celebrate with - cake!
